I went yesterday to deliver a new machine to a client, and was setting up an MSN account for their daughter (as she is now of email sending age (Allah help us all)), and was talking the guy through the ways to connect to MSN, how to see who is online, blah blah blah...
He asked about how he could tell if he was still connected to MSN, so I told him there is an icon in the bottom right of the screen that he can mouse over to check the status....I then told him that if he is not using the computer at all then it would be best to switch it off entirely as I had just replaced his machine due to a power surge...so he asks me :
"And if I switch the machine off will I still be connected to MSN ?"
This morning he phones and says he can`t send email, its just sitting there in his 'Outbox'...
So I ask him if he is connectd to the internet via his ADSL line, to which he replies :
"Oh, must I connected to the Internet to send email..."
